Community Day is Saturday, June 14th, and Sunday, June 15th! Whether you're hunting for this month’s nectar or are a completionist gamer looking to add the Iris Badge to your Bloom collection, all players should prepare for the main real-life event: summer.
Here are some quick tips from the Pikmin Informer team to help you stay cool and make the most of Community Day this month!
Planning the Day
Start early or go late: Morning and evening hours tend to be cooler and have lower UV levels, which means less sunburn risk and more energy for walking. Also, golden hour makes for great AR photos. Don’t forget to tag @PikminInformer on Instagram for a community feature!
Try indoor routes: Parks are an obvious location for Community Days, but consider an indoor mall or rec center to get in your steps. You’ll be surprised at how many big flowers are located inside shopping centers.
Dress the Part
The Three S’s: Pikmin Informer’s Aurora advises to “wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and sunhat!” Aurora also recommends comfy shoes and light colored clothing which absorb less heat.
OOTD: Pikmin Informer’s Ben prefers an “AIRism t-shirt, linen trousers, bamboo socks, and Converse” to keep cool, while my go-to Community Day outfit is a muscle tee, athletic shorts, and running shoes. Whatever you choose, make sure it’s something you feel good moving around in all day.

The Ultimate Community Day Summer Kit
Reusable Water Bottle: Hydration is so essential when walking 10K steps. Take a refillable bottle with you, and keep an eye out for water stations along the way.
Insect Repellent: A small bottle of bug spray can go a long way, especially when exploring parks or wooded trails. For extra protection, try mosquito head nets or clip-on fake dragonflies (mosquitoes tend to steer clear of their natural predators).
Snacks: Taking breaks between your walks is important, and what better way to do that than with a snack on hand? Our favorites are protein bars, trail mix, dried fruits, and the hydrating Pikmin Salty Ramune Tablets we reviewed last month!
Portable Charger: It’s no secret that Pikmin Bloom is a battery killer. A power bank keeps you from being stranded in the middle of the summer heat without your squad.
Planting Accelerators: These double your planting rate and are perfect if you want to rack up this month’s nectar or finish event challenges quickly without doing the full 10,000 steps.
Friends: You can team up in Pikmin Bloom in a few different ways: share your visibility while planting, be a part of a weekly steps or flower planting challenge, or host a full-on event with party walks. Joining in on any of these options makes Community Day more fun and safer all around (and really puts the “community” in Community Day, don’t you think?)

Japan summers are especially humid and brutal but we fortunately had some lovely cloud cover and were protected by the beautiful trees of the Shirakami Mountains. Preparing mentally for July and August though!
