Stay Hydrated with Pikmin: Salty Ramune Tablets from Japan

A perhaps lesser-known item from the Pikmin franchise in the U.S. are these salty ramune tablets, which first debuted in Japan last year. Similar to electrolytes, these salty hard candy clovers are designed to promote hydration in a fun way!

They first arrived in a narrow white box, and I was pleasantly surprised to find multiple tablet bags inside.

The front of each bag features three Pikmin, each carrying a piece of fruit. The tablets themselves are lychee and salt flavored.

The back of the package details more about the candies’ functions and supposed benefits. Though they are meant to be consumed alongside plenty of water, they don’t dissolve in water—so keep that in mind!

Each pellet’s wrapper shows a single Pikmin (Red, Blue, Yellow, White, Purple, Ice, Rock and Glow) carrying the four-leaf clover candy.

It wouldn’t be a Pikmin snack without a rare element: the elusive glow-min appears on some wrappers, though these are harder to find! Each bag is randomized and different each time!

These candies are tasty and perfect for summer. As outdoor activities increase, staying hydrated and replenishing minerals is important. Consider these candies (in moderation) as a fun supplement for activities like:
