Updated: Jun 13

*Event spoilers ahead*

Band kids, rejoice!

Pikmin Bloom is kicking off summer with a music-themed event inspired by the live energy of summer music festivals. But instead of guitars and synths, this update puts the spotlight on the bright sounds of brass, woodwinds, and percussion instruments, transforming your Bloom squad into a miniature marching band.

The new Tiny Instrument Decor Pikmin features miniature versions of classic marching band instruments, including trumpet, french horn, trombone, flute, tuba, snare drum, and saxophone. Click here to see the full set.

You can earn these musical Pikmin by completing this month’s Event Challenge missions. Rewards include Music Sheets, Gold and Huge Seedlings, seasonal petals, and other miscellaneous items. Completing a stage guarantees a Gold Seedling, which will grow into one of the seven new Tiny Instrument Decor Pikmin.

Later in June, players will also have another chance to complete the Puzzle: 2022 Summer Memories Decor and Puzzle: 2023 Summer Memories Decor sets. As of June 1, there’s no official word on whether last year’s Cheese Decor will return.

As you collect Music Sheets through completing event tasks, flower planting, and destroying Mysterious Mushrooms, you’ll have the opportunity to unlock a full marching band outfit for your Mii: a brass treble clef headpiece, a shako (fancy word for marching band headwear), and a full-body uniform. With only three pieces, this costume set is smaller than usual. We’re curious to know – do you prefer this lighter lineup, or do you enjoy the challenge of collecting larger sets?

In addition to its gameplay and art style, music has always been a major component of Pikmin's charm (even the Pikmin themselves love to hum along to the soundtrack!). To help set the tone for this month’s decor theme, check out our recent collaboration with Sixth Station Trio on our Instagram. Hopefully, we’ll see a few string instrument decor in the near future!

What do you think of this month’s decor? Better or worse than last year’s Cheesemins? What tiny instruments would you love to see next? And what decor themes are you hoping for in future events?
