Back in 2001 when the Nintendo GameCube released, players who picked up Luigi’s Mansion and explored the options menu were greeted by a prompt to view a preview trailer for an upcoming game called Pikmin. It's become a relatively unknown feature of Luigi's Mansion over the years, but for many Nintendo fans, this short movie was their first exposure to Shigeru Miyamoto's next major franchise.
For the Nintendo Switch Online release of Luigi’s Mansion, the game's "Pikmin Movie" has (unsurprisingly) been removed from the title. Originally, the preview was the last option in the settings menu. Check out this comparison showing each version of the game:

Pikmin for Nintendo GameCube was made available for Nintendo Switch with Pikmin 1 + 2. While the omission of this trailer seems rather odd, Nintendo had previously removed the video from the 2018 Nintendo 3DS port of Luigi’s Mansion.
The days of promoting other games through hidden video trailers and previews have sadly long passed.
Did you watch the Pikmin Movie in Luigi’s Mansion back in the day? If you are ever feeling nostalgic, you can still fire up your GameCube to give it a watch… or just view it here on YouTube.
