Level Up in Union Square: Attending the Grand Opening of Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO!

Nintendo has just opened its SECOND-EVER store in the United States! San Francisco is now one of the new stomping grounds for all things Mario, Zelda, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, and—our personal favorite—PIKMIN!

Situated in San Francisco’s iconic Union Square at 331 Powell Street, Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO offers a vibrant and immersive shopping experience for fans of all ages. I was lucky enough to snag a Warp Pipe Pass for the grand opening on May 15, 2025.

Even with a reservation, the line was quite long - I didn’t mind though; the Nintendo staff kept everything running smoothly and organized. It was also fun to take in the setup while waiting, and the energy in the crowd was fantastic! Fans from all over showed up, some even wearing their own Pikmin gear!!

When we entered the store, we were pleasantly greeted by an incredible display of Pikmin statues that brought the beloved characters to life. These statues were strategically placed in sleek, minimalist display cases, allowing fans to admire the intricate details and vibrant colors up close.

Alongside consoles and games, we explored a wide range of exclusive merchandise, including apparel, accessories, collectibles, office supplies, and home goods from each of Nintendo’s flagship IPs
