Captain Olimar's interstellar vacation takes a disastrous turn when a rogue meteor crashes into his ship, the S.S. Dolphin, scattering its parts across an uncharted planet. Stranded with only 30 days of life support, he must recover the missing pieces before it's too late. With the help of the curious, plant-like Pikmin, he embarks on a race against time to rebuild his ship and escape.

Pikmin made a significant impact on gaming by combining real-time strategy with puzzle-solving in a fresh and accessible way. Its development was influenced by Super Mario 128, a GameCube tech demo from Nintendo's Space World 2000, which introduced advanced physics and crowd management mechanics that shaped Pikmin’s gameplay. This innovation set the game apart, inspiring future strategy titles and showcasing Nintendo’s commitment to creative game design.
